Providing the labor market with the graduates needed for different sectors who have a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences specializing in (food industries). Studying in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs includes various and integrated specializations in the fields of: food chemistry and analysis, food microbiology, chemistry of colorants and antioxidants, and human nutrition, Food manufacturing technology (sugar and special products, grains, meat, fish, oils, fats, and industrial fermentation) in addition to the areas of nutrition specialization, which are concerned with nutritional education trends.
Preparing agricultural researchers to contribute to the development of food industries through a research plan through which students obtain a master’s degree and a doctorate in various fields of specialization. The department cooperates in its research with research bodies of common interest, such as the Agricultural Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Research Center and the Academy of Scientific Research And the various bodies related to food and food control of the Ministry of Health and the General Authority for Standardization and Quality of the Ministry of Industry. The ongoing research in the department is also linked to the problems of food manufacturing in Egypt and the quality departments in food factories to modernize production and develop food industries.
