In a scientific and investment event, the first of its kind in Upper Egypt, Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nosrat, President of Aswan University, inaugurated the “First Aswan University Agricultural Exhibition 2026 – ASWAN UNIVERSITY AGRI EXPO (AUA)” in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, former President of Aswan University and Head of the Exhibition,  Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abu El-Leil, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Tarek Radwan, Executive Director of the Horticultural Crops Production and Marketing Unit. The exhibition was jointly organized by the Horticultural Crops Production and Marketing Unit and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
With high-level attendance and strategic partnerships, the opening ceremony witnessed a prominent diplomatic and economic presence. The Faculty was honored to receive Prof. Sayed Khalifa, Head of the Agricultural Syndicate, His Excellency the Deputy Consul of Sudan, Eng.Sameh Talaat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KIMA Company, and Prof. Faisal Abdel Hamid, Director of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (South Valley Branch).
The event also featured the participation of chairmen of the boards of directors of major national and international companies, most notably:
* Ferchem Fertilizers Company
* Pulp & Paper Company
* Phosphate Company
* Eurogreen Company
* Carbon Group International
In addition, more than 40 exhibitors representing various agricultural sectors participated, making the exhibition a comprehensive platform that combines science, industry, and application to serve sustainable investment in the South.
An Innovative Student Footprint
The exhibition wasn’t limited to the commercial aspect; students from the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources had a prominent and distinguished presence. They handled the logistical and on-site organization of the exhibition with a professional performance that reflected their academic awareness. A pavilion was dedicated to showcasing innovative student projects, which included smart agricultural solutions and modern irrigation and waste recycling technologies. This was well-received by the businesspeople and investors in attendance, who praised the ability of the younger generation to connect scientific research with the job market.
Diverse Exhibits and a Taste of Aswan Identity
The exhibition pavilions featured a wide array of fresh agricultural products and dairy products manufactured according to the highest quality standards, in addition to a special section for handicrafts and traditional Aswan products that reflect the region’s culture and authenticity.
Exhibition Objectives
The AUA 2026 exhibition aims to achieve an ambitious vision:
1. To transfer the latest global agricultural technologies to farmers and investors in Upper Egypt.
2. To create a direct link between academic scientific research and its practical application in production and marketing. 3. Supporting sustainable agricultural investment and building local and international partnerships that serve comprehensive development in southern Egypt.
The first Aswan University Agricultural Exhibition is a pioneering step towards transforming the university into a hub of development, connecting the minds of researchers, the efforts of students, and industry expertise to chart a roadmap for the future of agriculture in Upper Egypt.
