يهتم قسم الميكروبيولوجيا الزراعية  بتدريس المفاهيم الأساسية العامة لعلم الميكروبيولوجي للطلاب . كما يهتم بعمل دراسات وأبحاث لتوضيح أهمية الميكروبات في تدوير المخلفات ومعالجة التلوث البيئى والمحافظة على البيئة
