Under the patronage of Professor Dr. \/ Loay Saad El-Din Nusrat, President of the University, and Professor Dr. \/ Mohamed Abu El-Leil, Dean of the College, and with the coordination of Dr. \/ Mohamed Ghoneim, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources played its leading role in spreading cultural awareness and community development. In its commitment to developing and serving the educational process for students, developing their skills, and preparing them for the market and various work environments, the college held an important educational seminar entitled \u201cCommon Diseases between Humans, Animals, and Poultry and How to Prevent Them,\u201d which was presented by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hamid, a lecturer in the Parasitology Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aswan University.<\/p>\n

The seminar focused on the importance of raising awareness about diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans, especially in rural and agricultural communities where there is more direct contact with animals and poultry. During the seminar, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hamid pointed out the seriousness of foot-and-mouth disease and other endemic diseases that cause economic losses in livestock, some of which are transmitted to humans.<\/p>\n

He explained the ways it is transmitted from infected animals to humans and the ways to prevent it, such as paying attention to personal hygiene, periodic vaccinations for animals, and monitoring the appearance of disease symptoms in livestock and poultry. In addition to the need to consult a veterinarian immediately upon noticing any abnormal symptoms in order to maintain the safety of humans and animals, thus clarifying the shared responsibility between the agricultural engineer and the veterinarian in prevention, protection and control.<\/p>\n
