Aswan University was built as a branch from South Valley University, Aswan University branch resigned and become as independent University under the title (Aswan University) in Aswan city, the University was included 6 colleges only (Faculty of Education / Faculty of science/Faculty of Engineering/ Faculty of Arts /Faculty of Energy Engineering/ Faculty of Social Studies) 

In order to meet the scientific and technological challenges that characterize the spirit of this age and in response to global changes in the field of agricultural education and concern for the future of this vital sector, Aswan University has considered that the establishment of a non-typical Faculty of Agriculture under the name “Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources” is an imperative necessity to serve the Aswan region due to its characteristics of Distinguished environmental characteristics that are unique to others, which are reflected in determining the types of agricultural crops that are good in it.
